Southern Railway will increase the speed of approximately 65 trains operating in Tamil Nadu starting January 1, 2026. This enhancement aims to reduce journey times by up to 30 minutes, improve punctuality, and modernize operations. The speed increase follows infrastructure upgrades, including track strengthening and signaling improvements, benefiting various mail, express, and passenger trains across different routes.
