Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor has written to the Railway Minister, expressing dismay over the exclusion of Kerala's capital from a list of 48 cities for rail infrastructure upgrades under Vision 2030. Tharoor highlighted the city's strategic importance as a divisional headquarters and gateway to southern India, questioning the omission from a project aimed at doubling train originating capacity. He noted that while Kochi was included, Thiruvananthapuram's exclusion appears to be a significant oversight requiring immediate rectification.
