SAD (Punar Surjeet) Alleges Selective Akal Takht Directive Implementation; SGPC Chief Responds
Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) president Giani Harpreet Singh accused the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) of selectively implementing the Akal Takht's December 2, 2024 directives, alleging protection of political interests and non-compliance by leaders including Sukhbir Singh Badal and SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami. Harpreet Singh criticized the use of religious donations for political purposes and called for Akal Takht intervention. Dhami denied violating directives, stating his resignation from a committee was for personal reasons and awaits Jathedars' decision.
