The BJP has strongly criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her alleged threats against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra stated that Banerjee's remarks, made in the context of infiltrators and border fencing, constitute a threat not only to Shah but to India itself. Patra accused Banerjee of prioritizing infiltrators over national security and alleged that the TMC government has a history of attacking democratic processes and BJP activists in the state.
