The Punjab Cabinet has approved the elevation of Banur to a tehsil and the creation of Hariana as a new sub-tehsil, aiming to improve administrative service access and reduce travel for citizens. Amendments to the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887, were also cleared to modernize land revenue laws, digitize records, and streamline the appeals process, thereby reducing litigation and enhancing transparency. Additionally, a one-time age relaxation was granted for special teacher educators under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan.
