The CPI has demanded the immediate withdrawal of the proposed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy for new government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. CPI national secretary K. Ramakrishna alleged the move aims to privatize medical education, making it inaccessible to the poor. He argued that since government funds built the infrastructure, handing it to private entities is unjustifiable and immoral, especially with the government potentially covering initial staff salaries while private partners collect fees.
