The Tamil Nadu government has announced bonuses and Pongal gifts for over 9.90 lakh employees and pensioners ahead of the festival. The state exchequer will spend ₹183.86 crore on these benefits. The announcement, directed by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, includes bonuses for 'C' and 'D' Group employees and teachers, as well as special ad hoc bonuses and Pongal gift amounts for various categories of employees and pensioners.
