
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam for two days starting January 17, marking his second trip to the state in under a month ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Upon arrival, he will witness the Bodo folk dance 'Bagurumba' performed by 10,000 artists in Guwahati. The following day, Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957 crore Kaziranga elevated corridor in Kaliabor and virtually flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar and Kamakhya-Rohtak. He is also expected to address a public meeting before concluding his visit.
