Ukraine's military intelligence claims to have staged the death of Russian anti-Putin fighter Denis Kapustin to protect him from an assassination order by Russian special services. Kapustin, leader of the Russian Volunteer Corps, was reportedly killed on the front lines, but later appeared via video link with Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. Ukraine stated they preserved his life and identified those involved in the plot, which reportedly had a $500,000 bounty. Kapustin has past links to the far-right.
