Daily ridership on the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro has increased nearly fourfold from about 35,000 to 1.5 lakh over three years, with monthly passengers rising from 12-27 lakh in 2023 to over 44 lakh in 2025. The Phase-2 extension, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2025, expanded the network to 68 km with 53 stations, enhancing connectivity between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, including key locations like Mahatma Mandir and Gandhinagar Railway Station. The metro supports commuters, students, and event attendees, reducing private vehicle use and congestion.
