Uttar Pradesh Advances Multiple Irrigation Projects to Expand Agricultural Water Supply

The Uttar Pradesh government is advancing multiple irrigation projects to enhance agricultural water supply in eastern districts. Initiatives include seven pressure irrigation projects across Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Gorakhpur, and the expansion of the Saryu Nahar Project targeting 1.404 million hectares. These efforts involve constructing outlets, filling canal gaps, and developing pressure systems to increase irrigation capacity by tens of thousands of hectares, aiming to improve water efficiency and support farmers' productivity.
