Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai inaugurated several infrastructure and urban development projects in Puducherry under the Smart City Mission. These included the Mini Stadium at Anna Thidal, where he interacted with school students. The Smart City Mission, launched in 2015, aims to develop 100 cities with core infrastructure, sustainable environments, and improved quality of life through innovative urban development strategies and technology.
