
Eleven individuals have been arrested in Assam and Tripura for alleged links to the Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK), a Bangladesh-based offshoot of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). Police state the IMK, founded in 2018, aims to destabilize Northeast India and establish 'Muslim supremacy,' propagating the 'Ghazwatul Hind' ideology. The group allegedly uses encrypted social media platforms for radicalization and recruitment, with coordination from Bangladesh-based leaders following political changes there in August 2024.
