Mizoram Assembly Passes 10 Bills Including Budget and Language Resolution

The Mizoram Legislative Assembly concluded its 28-day Budget session, passing 10 government Bills including amendments to ban polygamy and enhance women's property rights. The session approved the state's annual Budget for 2026-27 at Rs 17,469.91 crore and supplementary grants for 2025-26 totaling Rs 3,724.25 crore. The assembly also adopted a resolution to include the Mizo language in the Constitution's Eighth Schedule. Speaker Lalbiakzama highlighted the session's productive proceedings and maintained decorum.
