
The Henley Passport Index 2026 ranks Singapore as the world's most powerful passport, granting visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations. Japan and South Korea follow with access to 188 countries. India improved its ranking to 80th, up five places from last year, offering access to 55 destinations, including visa-free, visa-on-arrival, and electronic travel authorisations. Despite this progress, Indian passport holders still face visa requirements for many major countries. The index highlights growing disparities in global mobility, with Afghanistan ranked lowest at 101st.
