India's first bullet train is slated to begin operations on August 15, 2027, with the initial phase running between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project, spanning 508 kilometers, will be completed in phases, eventually connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Once fully operational, the bullet train is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities to approximately two hours, operating at speeds up to 320 kmph.
