
Secondary-grade and part-time teachers in Tamil Nadu have protested for 21 days seeking equal pay and service regularization. Following a second round of talks with Education Minister Anbil Poiyamozhi Mahesh, the minister assured that from May, part-time teachers will receive a minimum monthly payment of Rs 10,000. Discussions are also planned between the School Education and Law Departments on regularizing their services. The minister acknowledged financial constraints due to delayed central funds but promised ongoing support and future pay hikes.
