Bihar's cabinet has approved the long-pending Indrapuri Reservoir Project, clearing the way for its construction. This decision follows an agreement with Jharkhand to share water from the Sone River, resolving a dispute that had stalled the project since Bihar's bifurcation in 2000. The project, approved by the Central Water Commission, aims to enhance irrigation in eight districts of Bihar. The agreement allocates 5.75 MAF of water to Bihar and 2.0 MAF to Jharkhand from the undivided Bihar's share of 7.75 MAF.
