US Designates Muslim Brotherhood Branches in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon as Terrorist Organizations

The United States has designated the Egyptian, Lebanese, and Jordanian branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations, imposing sanctions. Washington stated the action targets alleged support for violent acts and Hamas. Critics, however, express concern that this designation could strain relations with Middle Eastern partners. The Lebanese branch was specifically labeled a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
