Union Home Ministry to Review Security Protocols for VIPs After Farooq Abdullah Attack

Following the assassination attempt on former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah, the Union Home Ministry will conduct a comprehensive review of security protocols for all VIPs under central protection. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, attended by senior security officials including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. The review aims to assess current measures ahead of upcoming assembly elections in five states and considers ongoing security challenges, including Middle East-related threats.
