Andhra Pradesh has reported 1,566 confirmed cases of scrub typhus this year, with approximately 20 deaths under investigation. The disease, transmitted by infected mites, causes symptoms like fever, headache, and rash, and is treatable with early diagnosis. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has ordered the formation of a special task force, including national medical experts, to study and control the spread of the bacterial infection, which has been detected across multiple districts.
