The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a 60-day advisory urging airlines to exercise caution when flying over Mexico, Central America, parts of South America, and the eastern Pacific due to potential military activities and GPS interference. This follows heightened regional tensions after a US military operation in Venezuela that led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro. President Donald Trump has also suggested possible military actions against drug cartels in Mexico and Colombia. Mexican authorities stated the advisory is precautionary and does not affect their airspace or airlines.
