The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) has demanded the removal of Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit following her alleged casteist remarks made during a widely circulated podcast. JNUTA criticized the Ministry of Education's silence and raised concerns about caste discrimination, misuse of recruitment provisions, and declining representation of marginalized groups at JNU. Separately, former JNUSU president Dhananjay filed complaints with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes under the SC/ST Act, alleging the remarks fostered hostility toward Dalit students, but has received no response so far.
