Mizoram's Power and Electricity Minister F Rodingliana informed the state Assembly that 45 villages remain un-electrified or de-electrified. Efforts under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme are underway, with sanctions secured and three contractors appointed. While 71 damaged transformers await repair, power supply continues in most areas through back-feeding from nearby transformers. Delays in maintenance are attributed to manpower shortages and poor road conditions affecting transport to repair workshops. Plans include replacing corroded electric poles with Rs 2.70 crore sanctioned for 2025-26.
