Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor Appointed ITBP Chief; Praveen Kumar Named BSF Director General

Senior IPS officer Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor has been appointed Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), succeeding Praveen Kumar, who has been named Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). Kapoor, a 1990-batch officer from Haryana cadre, will serve until October 31, 2026. Kumar, a 1993-batch officer from West Bengal cadre, will lead the BSF until September 30, 2030. Additionally, Rakesh Aggarwal was appointed Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) until August 31, 2028.
