MMRDA Advances Multiple Metro and Infrastructure Projects Across Mumbai Region

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is advancing multiple metro and infrastructure projects to improve connectivity and ease congestion in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Key initiatives include the Metro Line 5A extension linking Kalyan and Ulhasnagar, the expansion of Metro Line 11 from Wadala to Bandra Terminus, and the Mumbai-Navi Mumbai airport metro link. Plans also feature a triple-layer transport corridor in Kalyan integrating roads and metro lines. These projects, with costs ranging from Rs 4,000 crore to over Rs 23,000 crore, aim to address growing commuter demand and urbanisation challenges, with approvals and construction phases underway or planned soon.
