
Two women candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been elected unopposed in the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) elections in Thane district, Maharashtra. Rekha Chaudhary, a long-time corporator, won from Ward No. 18, and Asawari Kedar Navare, a new face with RSS roots, won from Ward No. 26(A). State BJP chief Ravindra Chavan and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated the candidates, viewing the unopposed victories as a sign of public trust and a morale booster for the party ahead of the main elections scheduled for January 15.
