The Allahabad High Court has imposed a Rs 20 lakh cost on the Rae Bareli district authority for illegally demolishing a property without providing the petitioner a hearing. Justice Alok Mathur described the situation as a "very sorry state of affairs," emphasizing the infringement of property rights.
