The vehicle of Special Rolls Observer C Murugan was reportedly attacked and gheraoed by a mob, primarily women, in Magrahat, South 24 Parganas, during a hearing process. The incident occurred in a constituency considered a stronghold of the Trinamool Congress. The West Bengal Chief Electoral Office has sent a report to the Election Commission of India (ECI), which has requested further reports from local officials. The ECI stated that legal action will be taken if hearings are disrupted.
