Lokpal Seeks Extension to Reconsider CBI Sanction Against MP Mahua Moitra

The Lokpal has sought a two-month extension from the Delhi High Court to reconsider sanctioning the CBI to prosecute TMC MP Mahua Moitra in the cash-for-query case. The court had earlier quashed the Lokpal's November sanction order, citing procedural errors under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013, and directed a fresh decision within one month. Moitra denies bribery allegations, asserting political motivation, while the CBI and complainants maintain the Lokpal followed due process. The matter is scheduled for hearing on January 23.
