Madhapur police have registered a case against BRS MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and another individual for alleged encroachment of approximately five acres of Durgam Cheruvu. The case, filed following a complaint by HYDRAA, cites violations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The complaint alleges the area was filled with soil and stones and used for commercial parking, despite a 2014 notification demarcating the lake's boundaries. Investigations are ongoing.
