CJI Surya Kant Proposes Removing Uniforms to Reduce Fear in Family Courts

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant proposed removing traditional uniforms for judges, advocates, and police officers in family courts to reduce fear among children involved in cases. Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony of a new family court complex in Rohini, he emphasized creating a familiar, non-intimidating environment focused on repairing human relationships. He suggested rebranding family courts as 'family resolution centres' to reflect their role in dispute resolution and relationship restoration.
