Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the new 111-crore Guwahati Police Commissionerate building and a 181-crore surveillance system featuring 2,000 CCTV cameras. The 10-story building will house all police branches and accommodate 400 officers. The surveillance system includes an Integrated Command and Control Centre to enhance city security. Shah also opened an exhibition on new criminal laws, organized by the state CID, to inform the public about recent legislative changes.
