Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has criticized the BJP-led Maharashtra government's plan to cut over 4,000 trees in Nashik for the 2027 Kumbh Mela infrastructure. Thackeray alleged this move constitutes "mindless environmental vandalism" and accused the BJP of prioritizing developers over nature, likening their actions to "Raavan Raj." The National Green Tribunal has halted the tree-cutting plan until January 15, amidst opposition from locals and activists. Thackeray also discussed opposition alliances and civic development plans for Nashik.
