TDB to File Affidavit in Supreme Court to Uphold Sabarimala Tradition on Women’s Entry

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) announced it will file an affidavit in the Supreme Court to uphold the traditional practice restricting entry of women of menstruating age at Sabarimala Temple. TDB president K Jayakumar stated the board opposes the 2018 Supreme Court ruling that allowed such entry and aims to maintain existing customs. The court is currently reviewing petitions on this issue and has asked parties, including the state government, to present their positions by March 14.
