
Employees of the Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) are threatening a hunger strike and protest if their jobs are not regularized by January 4. The association, representing around 2,500 workers who have served on a temporary basis for up to 20 years, cites a 2021 poll promise by the Chief Minister. They are demanding benefits like gratuity, bonuses, and time-scale pay, citing financial hardship and lack of essential employee benefits.
