Goa CM Orders Probe into Fire-Hit Nightclub's Operations Since 1999; 22 Establishments Sealed

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced a probe into the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub fire that claimed 25 lives, investigating violations dating back to 1999. The club operated under different names over the years. Following the incident, authorities inspected 86 tourism establishments along Goa's coast, sealing 22 for lacking fire licenses and pollution consents. Sawant emphasized no VIP protection for violators and highlighted ongoing actions against unauthorized constructions, including those violating Coastal Regulation Zone laws, amid opposition demands for transparency.
