
The Assam BJP launched its statewide 'Jana Aashirwad Yatra' on February 28 from Dhekiajuli to seek public support for a third consecutive term in the 2026 Assembly elections. Ahead of the polls, the Assam Cabinet approved a 30% hike in daily wages for tea garden workers, raising wages to 280 in Brahmaputra valley and 258 in Barak valley, with further increases expected.
