Assam BJP Launches Jana Aashirwad Yatra, Cabinet Approves Tea Workers' Wage Hike

The Assam BJP launched its statewide 'Jana Aashirwad Yatra' on February 28 from Dhekiajuli to seek public support for a third consecutive term in the 2026 Assembly elections. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the party's decade of governance and development efforts. Ahead of the polls, the Assam Cabinet approved a 30% hike in daily wages for tea garden workers, raising wages to 280 in Brahmaputra valley and 258 in Barak valley, with further increases expected. The yatra aims to connect with voters across the state.
