Mizoram Government Terminates 29 Employees for Proxy Hiring Violations

The Mizoram government has terminated 29 employees for illegally hiring proxies to perform their duties, following a directive from Chief Minister Lalduhoma to end this longstanding practice. Disciplinary action was taken against 37 employees, with eight receiving minor penalties. Over 3,600 employees admitted to proxy hiring, mainly citing health issues, domestic problems, and logistical challenges. The government has mandated employees to be stationed at their designated posts and offered voluntary retirement for those unable to fulfill duties.
