The Delhi government has ordered 500 seven-metre electric buses to enhance last-mile connectivity in narrow and congested areas, as part of a larger plan to procure 3,330 electric buses under the Centre's PM e-Drive scheme. These mini buses will complement 2,330 nine-metre feeder buses and 500 twelve-metre buses for major routes. The initiative aims to expand Delhi's electric bus fleet to 13,760 by 2028, supporting cleaner and more efficient public transport with features like air-conditioning, CCTV, and GPS tracking.
