The Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist (CPI-ML) will contest 10 seats in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections in alliance with the CPI-M-led Left Front. This marks the first seat-sharing arrangement between CPI-ML and the Left Front in the state. The alliance aims to challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress and prevent the BJP from gaining power. The elections will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29, with results on May 4. Meanwhile, the Congress party has decided to contest independently, ending its previous alliance with the Left Front.
