The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has terminated the contract for the Bhama Askhed pipeline project after the contractor failed to complete the remaining 30% of work despite three deadline extensions since 2020. The project, aimed at supplying 167 million litres of water daily to improve Pimpri-Chinchwad's water supply, is currently 70% complete. PCMC will initiate a fresh tender process, with officials noting potential cost increases and an expected continuation of alternate-day water supply for at least another year.
