The Telangana government has reorganized the police system in the Hyderabad region, expanding from three to four police commissionerates: Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and Future City. The former Rachakonda Commissionerate has been renamed Malkajgiri. This restructuring aims to improve policing and crime control, with specific areas like IT hubs and sensitive government locations assigned to different commissionerates. The creation of the Future City Commissionerate is linked to a proposed development project. Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district will now function as a separate police unit.
