Officials are working with business and social organizations to persuade people against their use, while also warning of punitive action against traders who promote them for profit. In Ludhiana, a seed store owner was booked and 18 kg of a banned insecticide, Ammonium salt of Glyphosate, was seized due to its potential to contaminate soil and the food chain.
