
Parliamentary sessions in 2025 dedicated less than 30% of their time to legislative business, including bill discussion and passage, according to a PRS Legislative analysis. The Question Hour also functioned for less time than scheduled. During the year, 31 bills were passed, covering areas like Waqf properties, income tax simplification, online gaming prohibition, and nuclear/insurance sector opening. Modifications were made to the MGNREGA scheme, increasing employment guarantee days and altering fund sharing. Of 42 bills introduced, 11 were referred to committees for scrutiny.
