PM Modi Inaugurates 28th Commonwealth Conference of Parliamentary Speakers in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) at New Delhi's Parliament House, attended by 61 Speakers from 42 Commonwealth countries and four semi-autonomous parliaments. Chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the conference will address parliamentary challenges including the role of presiding officers in democracy, the use of artificial intelligence, social media's impact on legislators, and enhancing citizen engagement. Pakistan and Bangladesh are not participating due to political circumstances. The event underscores the importance of parliamentary cooperation in strengthening democratic institutions amid evolving global challenges.
