Kerala Government Plans Comprehensive Package to Address Muthalapozhi Harbour Issues
Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced a comprehensive package for the Muthalapozhi fishing harbour area to address issues caused by unscientific breakwater construction. The plan includes dredging accumulated sand at the harbour mouth, studying and mitigating coastal erosion along the Anchuthengu coast, and providing welfare measures such as housing and financial assistance to affected fisherfolk. The government has held high-level meetings with local representatives and experts to implement these measures promptly.
