Seven officials from the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) have been suspended by the Punjab government in connection with an alleged scam involving development works worth approximately 52 crore. The allegations suggest favoritism towards a specific firm in the tendering process. This action follows the recent suspension of Amritsar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP, vigilance) Lakhbir Singh, also linked to the same case. The suspended AIT officials include engineers and junior engineers, placed under suspension with immediate effect pending further investigation.
