Himachal Pradesh Advances Green Energy and Medicinal Plant Initiatives Amid Climate Challenges
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the state's commitment to becoming India's first Green Energy State amid climate change challenges like cloudbursts and shrinking glaciers. The government aims to harness 200 MW of solar power this year and is establishing a one-megawatt green hydrogen plant with Oil India Limited. Two MoUs were signed with Dabur India and Ayurvedic expert Karan Singh Vaidh to promote medicinal plant cultivation. Sukhu also linked progress on hydropower projects to resolving Bhakra Beas Management Board arrears with neighboring states.
